No Cooling at 2am? Somebody Actually Answers
The phone gets answered any hour, any day. If your system quit in the middle of a July night, you need somebody on the way, not a voicemail box.

An HVAC emergency in Northwest Florida is usually a heat problem. Inside a closed-up house in July, indoor temperature climbs fast once the system stops moving cold air, and humidity climbs with it. That combination is hard on older folks, on babies, and on pets. It is also hard on the house itself, because sustained indoor humidity is what starts mildew growing on drywall and in closets.
The other emergency we get called for is water. An air handler that stops draining will overflow its pan, and that water goes into ceilings, into insulation, and down interior walls. People often notice the stain before they notice the cooling is off. Either way the clock is running, and the sooner somebody shuts the system down and clears the blockage, the smaller the repair gets.
We answer around the clock and we do not play the after hours pricing game. You get told what is wrong and what it takes to fix it. If the part can wait until morning without hurting anything, we will tell you that too, because charging you overnight rates for something that is not urgent is exactly the kind of thing this company was started to avoid.
Call Us Tonight, Not Tomorrow
- The system runs but nothing coming out of the vents is cold, and the house keeps climbing
- Water dripping from a ceiling or staining drywall under the air handler closet
- A burning or hot electrical smell coming from the indoor unit or the outdoor disconnect
- The outdoor unit is humming loudly but the fan blade is not turning
- The breaker for the system trips again as soon as you reset it
- Ice built up on the copper lines or visibly frozen on the indoor coil
- A grinding or metal on metal noise from the blower that started suddenly
If it can safely wait until morning, we will say so instead of billing you overnight.
What Usually Breaks Late
Most true after hours failures trace back to electrical components under heat stress. Capacitors sit in an outdoor cabinet that bakes all day in Gulf Coast sun, and heat is what shortens their life. A weak capacitor will often start the system fine in the morning and refuse to start it at 4pm when the cabinet is hottest, which is why so many of these calls come in during the late afternoon and evening.
Contactors are the other frequent culprit. That is the electrical switch that lets power through to the compressor, and its contact points burn and pit a little every time they close. When they pit badly enough the compressor stops getting clean power, and you get the hum with no fan turning. Salt air off the Gulf accelerates corrosion on those parts, so coastal homes in Santa Rosa Beach and Inlet Beach tend to see them go sooner than inland ones.
Drain overflows are the third big one, and they are almost always seasonal. April through October the system runs so much that the condensate line never gets a chance to dry out between cycles. Biological growth builds inside the pipe, the line plugs, the safety switch trips or the pan overflows, and the call comes in at night because that is when somebody finally noticed the ceiling.

How a Night Call Goes
- You get a human
The phone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We ask a few questions to figure out whether this is a shut it down now situation or something safe to wait on.
- Make it safe first
If there is water coming through a ceiling or a burning smell, we walk you through killing power at the breaker before anybody else touches it.
- Find the actual fault
On arrival we test rather than guess. Electrical readings, pressures, and airflow tell us whether we are looking at a control problem, a mechanical one, or a drainage one.
- Fix what can be fixed tonight
Capacitors, contactors, float switches, clogged drains, and most control failures get handled on the spot from what is on the truck.
- Straight talk on the rest
If the repair needs a part we have to order, we tell you what it costs, what it takes, and what to do in the meantime to stay comfortable.
Answering the Phone Across the Panhandle
We run emergency HVAC calls out of Freeport across Walton County and into the surrounding counties. That covers the 30A corridor through Seaside, WaterColor, Grayton Beach, Seagrove Beach and Inlet Beach, plus Santa Rosa Beach, Point Washington, Miramar Beach, and north to DeFuniak Springs and Paxton. Rental turnover on 30A means a lot of our overnight calls are property managers with guests checking in the next day.
West into Okaloosa County we cover Niceville, Valparaiso, Destin and Eglin Air Force Base. North and east we run to Ebro, Vernon, Caryville, Westville, Ponce de Leon and out to Panama City Beach. Because the same license holder covers plumbing and mechanical work here, a night call that turns out to be a water heater or a drain problem instead of an HVAC problem does not mean waiting on a second company in the morning.
Towns we get to most: Freeport, Santa Rosa Beach, Point Washington, Miramar Beach, Niceville, Destin, Eglin Air Force Base, Valparaiso, Ebro, Vernon, Caryville. See the full service area.
Questions we get about this
Do you really answer at 3 in the morning?
Yes. The phone is answered 24 hours a day, every day of the week. You will talk to somebody who can ask the right questions and decide whether a truck needs to roll now.
Do you charge more for nights and weekends?
We do not run the after hours premium games some companies do. You get told what the work costs before it happens, and that number does not change because of what time the clock says.
What should I do before you get there?
If you see water coming through a ceiling or smell something burning, shut the system off at the breaker. Otherwise turn the thermostat off so the system stops trying to run, and leave interior doors open to let air move through the house.
Is it an emergency if it is just not cooling well?
Usually not, though it depends on the house and who is in it. Weak cooling with the system still running can normally wait for a scheduled visit. No airflow at all in a closed up house in August, water damage, or a burning smell should not wait.
Can you fix it the same night or just get it running?
Most of what fails after hours is electrical or drainage, and we carry those parts. That means the majority of night calls end with the system running properly rather than patched. If a part has to be ordered we will tell you plainly and get you through until it lands.
Will you try to sell me a whole new system while I am stuck?
No. Being stranded at midnight is the worst possible time to make a big purchase, and pressuring people in that spot is the exact practice this company was built against. We fix what is broken and talk about replacement later, on a normal day, when you can think about it.
