Before you sign up
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. The plans run month to month. If you want to stop, call and tell us and we stop billing. We are not going to make you mail a certified letter to get out of a 40 dollar a month plan.
What happens on a maintenance visit?
On the HVAC side we clean the condenser coil, clear the condensate drain line, check refrigerant pressures and temperature split, tighten electrical connections, and check the capacitor and contactor for wear. On the plumbing side we flush the water heater where it is accessible, check the pressure at a hose bib, look over accessible supply and drain lines, and test the shutoffs.
On the Whole Home plan you also get a written report with photos of anything we found, so you are not just taking our word for it.
Is this a warranty or a home insurance policy?
Neither. It is scheduled maintenance plus priority scheduling. If we find a part that is failing, we tell you what it is and what it costs to fix, and you decide. The plan is what keeps small things from turning into after-hours emergencies.
Why does the plumbing plan only include one visit a year?
Because that is honestly all a normal residential plumbing system needs. Water heaters want an annual flush, shutoffs want to be exercised, and drains want an eye on them. Charging you for two visits when one does the job would be exactly the kind of thing we started this company to avoid.
I have two AC systems. What does that cost?
The first additional HVAC system is 15 dollars a month and includes two tune-ups a year for that unit. Systems beyond the second are 12.50 a month each. If you only have a second indoor air handler and no separate condenser, that is 10 dollars a month.
Do you cover grinder pumps?
Yes, as a 10 dollar a month add-on on the Whole Home or Plumbing plan. It covers an annual inspection of the pump, floats, check valve, control panel, and discharge components. Around Freeport and the 30A corridor a lot of homes are on low pressure sewer and have one of these in the yard, and almost nobody thinks about it until the alarm light comes on.
